Millage First…

Our primary goal for the month of October and the first few days of November is to stop an unnecessary tax hike from being imposed on the hard working people of Washtenaw County. But this effort does not stop when this election is over. These millage proposals will continue to come back year after year if we do not fix the underlying problems. So be sure to follow the steps below to learn how you can help ensure that we stop the tax hike. But be sure to visit our Reform Next page to begin the process of demanding fiscal responsibility and effective management of our schools.

• The most important thing that anyone of us can do is VOTE NO on November 3rd.

• You should also let your friends and neighbors know that you are voting NO and encourage them to do the same.  Let them know the issues, how the administrators have not done everything they can to minimize costs, how the state has not addressed real problems in the funding structure and how patching these problems with a tax hike is devastating to families and allows the problem to continue unsolved.

• We will be doing some pretty intensive canvassing to warn voters of this off year tax hike.  Please plan on joining us on one of the evenings or weekends between now and Nov. 3rd.  We will be out most nights and both remaining weekends so contact Seth Bechtel at 734-904-5604 or washtenawcountytaxpayers@yahoo.com to arrange to help.
